Obit: Gerald Baumgartner “Chub,” 82, Waukesha

Nov. 25, 2016 – Richfield, WI – Gerald L. Baumgartner “Chub”, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday November 21, 2016 in Waukesha.  He was born on September 27, 1934 to Adolph and Hermina (nee Oswald) in Richfield, WI.  He graduated from Slinger High School Class of 1952.  He married Joanne Schulteis on May 8, 1954 at St. Hubert Catholic Church.  Chub was a carpenter and a member of Carpenter’s Union Local 2283.

He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, spending time at his cottage up north, and building things with his woodworking skills.  He was a Brewer and Packer fan.

Gerald is survived by his wife Joanne; children, David, Michael (Lynn), Janice (Jeff) Peterson, Carol (Tom Weidner) Baumgartner; 10 grandchildren, Terri Baumgartner, Chris (Michelle) Baumgartner, Geri (Luis Capitillo) Baumgartner, Katie (Michael) Mutz, Emily (Mike) Gehring, Jacob (Kim Raymer) Baumgartner, Becca (Ed) Naczek, Jessica (Zach Swan) Peterson, Justin Peterson, and Rebecca Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Lenore, Logan and Amelia; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Baumgartner, Doris Schulteis, Darlene (Richard) Lucka and Dolores Stafford.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Daniel and Robert.

A Funeral Service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Father Richard Stoffel presiding.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00PM until the time of the service (3:00PM).  Interment will be Monday at 10:00AM at St. Hubert’s Cemetery (Hubertus).  Memorials appreciated to St. Peter’s Building Fund or Richfield Volunteer Fire Department would be appreciated.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Divata Dialysis Center, Cedar Community and Seasons Hospice.
