September 30, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On Monday, September 30, 2024, at 6:33 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a phone call from the property owner at W6216 Lost Arrow Road, in the Township of Byron, indicating one of his silos was on fire.
Oakfield Fire Department and First Responders along with deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were initially dispatched.
Upon arrival of fire crews and deputies, only smoke was visible from the silo. Fire crews were able to limit the fire to the silo. The 70-foot silo was filled with approximately $20,000 worth of feed, which was all destroyed.
No other damage was sustained to any of the surrounding structures. The fire is not considered suspicious.
The following fire departments assisted at the scene: Fond du Lac Fire / Rescue, Town of Fond du Lac, Town of Calumet, Eden, Lamartine, Campbellsport, Mt. Calvary, and Brownsville. Alliant Energy also responded.
