1 person in custody on multiple charges following pursuit in Fond du Lac Co.  | By Sgt. Logan Will

September 16, 2024Fond du Lac Co., WI – On Monday, September 16, 2024, at approximately 5:21 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Communications Center was made aware of a reckless driver traveling north on USH 151 that was still in Dodge County.

As the vehicle neared Fond du Lac County, the call was transferred from the Dodge County Communications Center to the Fond du Lac County Communications Center. Multiple callers reported that the vehicle was varying in speeds and weaving all over the roadway. It also was reported to have struck a number of construction cones in Dodge County. Multiple deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office began responding to the area.

A deputy located the vehicle northbound on USH 151 south of Thill Road, in the Township of Oakfield. As the vehicle was approaching that deputy, he observed it nearly strike another vehicle due to its erratic driving.

A traffic stop was attempted, and the vehicle did not yield to the deputy’s lights and siren resulting in a vehicle pursuit.

The vehicle continued to travel erratically while swerving all over the roadway and nearly struck a sheriff squad positioned with its emergency lights on in the median. The pursuit came to an end as the vehicle began slowing in speed and the vehicle was boxed-in, bringing it to a safe stop.

The driver and lone occupant was a 34-year-old female from Green Bay. She was taken into custody without incident. During a search of the vehicle deputies located suspected fentanyl pills.

She is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on felony eluding, first degree recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent to deliver – schedule 1 and 2 narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated – first offense.

No one was injured during the pursuit and no property damage occurred as a result. The pursuit lasted for approximately 5 miles.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
