Board President Jason Lepien and Board member Lyndsie Huston are co-leading the Succession Planning Team, seeking God’s wisdom and guidance in the difficult task of determining the next HOS to step into the enormous role that Kris Austin leads in this organization.

One of the loudest themes constantly shared by the team is they do not want to pick the next HOS, but rather to hear God’s voice clearly on who he wants to be the next HOS. The team, with wisdom from above and from prior experiences, developed a thorough recruiting and interviewing workflow.

This entire interview process takes more than 18 hours and engages 18 different people along the way. These 18 people consist of six parents, two administrative staff members, two lead teachers, two major stakeholders, the entire Board and Kris Austin. It requires a unanimous vote.

During the process, the team studies the candidate’s spiritual leadership, staff and student development skills, relational management, educational and administrative functions and how they would partner with the Board. The team views the most important category to be the individual’s spiritual leadership and how they would continue to promote and foster the mission of the school.

During the summer, the Succession Planning Team networked, recruited and launched a nationwide search. More than 20 candidates have applied, and the team is vetting the candidates. The Board is hoping to hire within the next couple of months and then begin a six-month onboarding process to hand off the baton to the next leader.

Please continue to lift the team and all the details for this process in prayer.  We encourage you to attend our Board Town Hall Meeting on October 28 at 6 p.m. for further updates.
