Man seriously injured in mountain bike crash in Town of Polk | By Sgt. Brad Rodich

August 31, 2024 – Town of Polk, WI – On August 31, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a 911 call reporting that a subject had been involved in a mountain bike accident while utilizing the trails at Heritage Trails County Park, located in the Town of Polk.

The caller stated the patient was bleeding from the face and was struggling to breath. Deputies, Lifestar Rescue and Slinger Fire were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, first responder vehicles were able to be driven along the paths to get close to the location of the patient. Contact was made with the caller and patient and initial medical assessment was done.

Shortly after being loaded into the ambulance, the patient’s condition deteriorated. Flight for Life was requested to scene and was landed at the park. Flight medics and on scene EMS continued to work to stabilize the patient until he was ultimately transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert Main. At writing the patient is in critical but stable condition.

The patient is a male in his late 30’s from Waukesha County. Family was with him at park at the time of the accident and were located by first responders and brought to his location.

No further information will be released at this time.
