10 departments respond to barn fire in FDL | By Sgt Brian Bednarek

August 26, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On Sunday, August 25, 2024 at approximately 11:20 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a 911 call from a resident at N1662 Double D Road, located in the Township of Auburn. The resident advised there was a fire in the attic.

A deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and confirmed all the occupants were out of the residence. The deputy observed smoke coming from the entire roof line.

The Campbellsport Fire Department and Campbellsport Ambulance responded, along with fire departments from Eden Fire, RIT 3 & RIT 4, Mt. Calvary Fire, Kewaskum Fire, Brownsville Fire, Lomira Fire, Cascade Fire, Kohlsville Fire, and Beechwood Fire. Also assisting at the scene was American Red Cross.

Property loss management

The items in the attic are a total loss. The living quarters of the house sustained water and smoke damage throughout.

 

Through investigation it was determined the fire is believed to have started in the attic earlier when the circuit breaker tripped. The fire is not considered suspicious. There were no reports of civilian or emergency personnel injured during the course of the fire.
