June 23, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies, emergency responders and road crews were kept busy Saturday evening as heavy rain led to numerous flooding-related calls.
Unofficial reports of 8″ of rain between Friday and Saturday, particularly along a line from Waupun through Oakfield to Eden, caused significant flooding in some areas.
One of the more serious calls involved a vehicle that was swept off the road and into the adjacent creek in Eden.
Thankfully the driver of the vehicle was able to get out and get to land before his vehicle became fully submersed. Several roadways remain impassable and are marked with barricades.
Please take an alternate route if you come across a closed road.
