June 5, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – On May 29, 2024, the West Bend Police Department, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Washington County Task Force, Washington County Metro Drug Unit, and Hartford K-9 Unit, conducted a high risk traffic stop on Hwy 45 South of Paradise Drive.
The West Bend Police Department was investigating a drug deal which had lead to an overdose death in the City of West Bend. The driver of the vehicle was contacted by West Bend Detectives, and through diligent work, believed he was still communicating with the victim of the overdose. The driver agreed to return to West Bend to deliver more drugs.
During the traffic stop, two occupants were located within the vehicle. Both subjects were uncooperative in surrendering to law enforcement, requiring a high risk vehicle approach with numerous law enforcement personnel, and K-9 Flash. Eventually, both subjects were taken into custody.
The driver was identified as the subject who delivered the drugs leading to the recent overdose death.
K-9 Flash conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle, and alerted to the presence of drugs. During a probable cause search, approximately one ounce of Cocaine/ Fentanyl was located in the driver’s pocket. Additionally, THC, cash, and drug paraphernalia were found within the vehicle.
The subject is currently held at the Washington County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond for the following charges:
Possession w/Intent to deliver-Fentanyl (<=10g)
Possession w/Intent to deliver-Cocaine(>15-40g)
Possesses Illegal Article
Possession of THC
Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Resisting or Obstructing an Officer
Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor
