May 23, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – Norman F. Hinze, Sr, 94, entered Eternal Life on Friday, May 17, 2024.
He was born on May 1, 1930, in Milwaukee to the late Fred and Ella (nee Bethke) Hinze.
Norman was united in marriage to Arlene Figge on October 7, 1950, at Gospel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Arlene passed away on February 26, 2015.
In 1949 Norman spent time in the WI National Guard 32nd military police division.
Norman spent most of his working life repairing machinery. He spent time at Northwestern Mutual, Riewer and Gray, Brown Deer Middle School, and Wauwatosa Police Department as head of Maintenance before retiring in December of 1995. He was a Boy Scout Master Leader at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brown Deer, was on the Board of Trustees at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and served as a head usher. Norman loved his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also spent time gardening and being outdoors.
Those left to cherish Norman’s memory include his three children, Nancy (Greg) Harding, Norene (Tom) Johnson, and Neal (Monica) Hinze; seven grandchildren, Eric (Sara) Hinze, Alex (Hannah) Hinze, Kaytlyn (Matt) Muehlbauer, Emmalyn Nelson, Hannah (Joe) Walters, Ella Rozwadowski, and McKenzie Rozwadowski; five great-grandchildren, Abby Hinze, Lexi Hinze, Penelope Hinze, Henrik Hinze, Arya Walters, and soon to be great grandbaby Hinze; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Arlene, he was preceded in death by his son, Norman Hinze, Jr; sister, Lois Spingola; two brothers, Fred (Jacki) Hinze and Gerald (Marilyn) Hinze; brother in-laws, Earl Figge and Robert Figge.
VISITATION: Norman’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend, from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Funeral Service for Norman will follow visitation at 12 p.m., at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, with Reverend Dennis Roser of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Brown Deer officiating the service. Entombment will follow service at Washington County Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the pastoral staff of St Paul Brown Deer for the home visits over the years, the staff at Samaritan Health Care Center for their care and compassion, Preceptor Home Health, and to his daughter in-law, Monica Hinze for the excellent home care that she provided.
