Nov. 7, 2016 – Mayville, WI – Larry C. Jordan age 79 of Mayville, WI passed onto Glory, Wednesday, November 3, 2016 at Froedtert St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend. He was born June 13, 1937 in Ithaca, NY to Hubert “Jack” and Lucy (nee Bresee) Jordan. On June 9, 1970, Larry was united in marriage to Barbara (nee Goad) in Pinellas Park, FL.
Larry was an entrepreneur owning and operating several businesses over his lifetime. He opened photography studios in Ithaca, NY, Tampa, FL, Denver, CO and Anchorage, AK under the name of Lawrence of New York.
A machine shop in Tampa, FL, sporting goods stores in Libby and Kalispell, MT and a wholesale jewelry supply company founded in Benton, IL serving companies such as Macy’s, Saks Fifth Ave and Tiffany & Co. During his last 15 years of retirement, he operated a successful e-commerce company, as a hobby, of which, will continue in operation by the family. Throughout all of the business and work Larry performed, he was an artist in photography and will always be known as a photographer.
Larry enjoyed traveling all over the country. He traveled through or lived in every state with the exception of Hawaii. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, nature walks, fishing, hunting and motorcycling.
Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara; 7 children Nancy, Lola, Clayton, Mary, Paula, Brian and Jack, 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Richard of Ocean Springs, MS, sister Bernie Feller of Trumansburg, NY, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert “Jack”, Lucy, step-father Loren and brother Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9 at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 2300 S. Main St., West Bend, with Pastor Luke Love officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Washington County Memorial Park following the funeral.
Memorial funds received will be to the benefit of the family.
