Chickens perish as 8 departments respond to barn fire in Sheboygan County, WI | By Sgt. Erik Linton

April 4, 2024 – Sheboygan, WI – On Thursday April 4, 2024, at approximately 5:03 p.m., the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Department received a 911 call regarding a barn fire at W9152 Chickadee DR, in the Town of Greenbush. Caller stated a single barn was on fire which housed approximately 30 chickens and was close to two additional barns.

When deputies arrived, the barn was fully engulfed. No additional buildings were damaged. The fire appears to have been caused by a faulty heat lamp. The barn is considered a total loss. No persons were injured during this incident.

The following public safety agencies assisted with this incident: Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, Fire Departments from; Greenbush, Plymouth, Cascade, Elkhart Lake, Glenbeulah, St. Cloud, Mt. Calvary, St. Anna, Glenbeulah first responders, and Orange Cross Ambulance.
