March 20, 2024 – Slinger, WI – The 2023 Firefighter of the Year award is given to a distinguished member of the Slinger Fire Department who has given their time, talents, and treasures over the past year.
The 2023 Firefighter of the Year joined the Slinger Fire Department in June of 2005.
Currently, he is an active member on many committees including Dive Team, Fitness, Fire Inspections, Pager, Recruitment and Training. This person is certified WI State FF1, Fire Inspector, Fire Officer I and Emergency Services Instructor I.
It is our pleasure to present the 2023 Slinger Fire Department Firefighter of the Year award to Firefighter Troy Schmechel. Congratulations!
