The Lamartine Fire Department, along with fire departments from the City of Fond du Lac, Town of Fond du Lac, Village of Rosendale, and Village of North Fond du Lac, all arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the fire.
Due to the quick response of the fire departments, the fire was unable to spread and was limited to the attached garage. The items within the garage are believed to be a loss. The living quarters of the house had minor amounts of smoke throughout the residence, which was ventilated and is still habitable.
Through investigation it was determined the fire is believed to have started along the north wall of the garage as the homeowner was charging multiple lithium-ion batteries for remote-controlled vehicles.
