The idea came up at a previous meeting when discussing how the club could give back to the community.
Part of the 4-H pledge is to give our hands to larger service, so this is where the idea of making tie blankets began.
Fabric donated by a club member and tools brought by 4-H Club leader Deanna Schmidt made the process run smoothly.
This activity allowed members to work together to create a cozy gift. Knowing someone will be comforted by something club members made with their hands is incredibly fulfilling.
The project not only benefits the receiver but also teaches youth members how their involvement shows generosity to others.
Here’s to giving our hands to larger services one blanket at a time.
