The announcement kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion at United Way’s Hartford Resource Center. This strategic development aims to enhance community services to meet the growing needs of residents.
The expansion allows for the inclusion of Interfaith Caregivers and a secondary location for the H.E.L.P. Corner program within Washington County. The H.E.L.P. Corner is a short term, durable medical equipment loan program that brings mobility and independence to community members in need. The United Way Hartford Resource Center building will be remodeled to suit the needs of Interfaith Caregivers, which will have its own building entrance.
The expansion is in response to the increasing demand for assistance in Hartford, particularly among senior citizens and individuals seeking resources closer to home. By establishing additional space for Interfaith Caregivers and a secondary H.E.L.P.
Corner outside of West Bend, United Way of Washington County is poised to broaden its impact and fill critical gaps in service.
Steve Volkert, City of Hartford Administrator, emphasized the significance of the expansion. “It fills that gap that we can’t do as a city,” he said.
Jeanean Brudvig, Director of Interfaith Caregivers, said, “Hartford is a growing community; we are seeing more senior client applications, we’re seeing more need in Hartford.”
The partnership between United Way and local organizations like H.E.L.P. Corner is a testament to the collaborative spirit that drives community improvement.
“We’re just so excited to be able to partner with United Way in Hartford,” said Nancy Bloom from H.E.L.P. Corner, Washington County. “Our collective efforts will ensure that the residents of Washington County have access to the vital services they require.”
