Oct. 27, 2016 – Jackson, WI – After winning a regional championship on Saturday, third seeded Kettle Moraine Lutheran advances to a sectional semifinal match against second seed Sheboygan County Christian/Sheboygan Area Lutheran on Thursday.
Sheboygan County Christian/Sheboygan Area Lutheran cruised past Ozaukee 10-1 in the opening round of the state tournament, followed by a commanding 3-0 victory over Brookfield Academy to win its regional.
Ranked 5th in Division 4, SCC/SAL comes into the match as favorites, but KML coach Matt Moeller has no problem being labelled the underdog.
“Our team knows we will have a difficult task before us this week to compete with some of the top teams in the state, but if we play smart, aggressive, tough soccer we will give ourselves an opportunity to advance,” he said.
The game takes place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Sheboygan Area Lutheran High School.
The winner moves on to the sectional final, where it will face either Oostburg and University School for the right to go to state.
