Oct. 24, 2016 – Barton, WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4700 block of Susan Lee Ct in the Town of Barton late last week (10/20) for a report of two vehicles unlawfully entered during the overnight hours. The offender(s) made off with $15 in assorted change, a tire pressure gauge and a storage compartment for a 2008 Toyota Tundra.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the master criminal minds, responsible for these complex thefts, that the maximum criminal penalty for this type of theft is a Class A misdemeanor. That crime classification has a penalty of a fine not to exceed $10,000, or imprisonment not to exceed 9 months – or even both.
Even if you decide to sell your ill-gotten gains on Craigslist, and add in the $15 in change you claim to have won at a local sheepshead tournament, you would still be roughly $300 short to bail yourself out of jail. This is even before you get to see the man in the black robe and make your case about how you deserve a warning.
P.S. If you would like to save yourself the time of trying to find a seller, please contact us directly at 262-335-4411. We would be more than happy to meet with you anywhere within the county lines to discuss the selling price.
