The six-month racquetball court and current Alloy studio conversion project will begin January 29 and projected to be complete in August.

  • Project include demolishing the current walls and floors, adding a new steel deck with concrete to add a 2nd floor, and new flooring, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC system.
  • This new space doubles the size of our dumbbell area, quadruples the platform and rack area, and adds a turf space.
  • All of the equipment in the free-weight center will be new.
  • Old free-weight equipment donated to local police and fire departments, school districts, and Moraine Park Technical College.
  • The 2nd floor will add two bathrooms and new flooring lined with pickleball courts. This area will be a flexible multipurpose space accommodating group fitness, cycling, pickleball, and licensed childcare.
  • The existing 2nd floor above the current Alloy studio will get updated lighting, HVAC, and flooring lined with a pickleball court.
  • Converting the three remaining racquetball courts at the Y will provide additional space for the free-weight center, fitness studios, and pickleball courts.
  • After the Free Weight Center completion in August, the space it once occupied will become the temporary Wellness Center.
  • The two-month renovation of the Wellness Center includes knocking down the wall between the existing Wellness Center and the current cycling studio. The old cycling studio will house the selectorized strength equipment.
  • Additions include a beginner-friendly free-weight area, dumbbells, squat racks, cable crosses, cardio equipment, a dedicated stretching area, and new flooring.
