November 28, 2023 – West Bend, WI – Sylvester “Syl” J. Ruplinger, 88, of West Bend died peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at home. He was born September 2, 1935, in Kewaskum to Arthur and Cresentia (nee Feucht) Ruplinger, and on April 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Nancy M. Neu at St. Matthew’s Church in Neosho.
Syl proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Austria. Following his discharge he worked at The Gehl Company from 1957 until he retired in 2000. He enjoyed genealogy and was a member of the Washington County Historical Society.
Sylvester is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, 3 children: Jodi (Clint) Leidolf, Kori Hoffert and Jolene (Bjarne) Jensen and 12 grandchildren: Eli, Zack, Lauren, Brooke, Josh, Clyde, Charlie, Evan, Penny, Rosa, Hunter and Logan. He is further survived by 4 sisters-in-law: Angie Ruplinger, Carol Ruplinger, Ellie Neu, and Mavis Neu, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Keith Ruplinger on November 26, 2006, his parents Arthur and Cresentia Ruplinger, 4 brothers: Willy, Roland, Marvin, and Richie and his sister Chris Lauters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, 406 Jefferson St., West Bend, WI, with Rev. Jacob Strand presiding. Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
The family will greet visitors on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Aurora Hospice Care are appreciated.
