Hartford man killed in Dodge County accident

Oct. 20, 2016 – Beaver Dam, WI – Updated information:  The deceased driver was identified as Jamie D. Peszko, 40 years old, Hartford, WI.  Peszko was wearing a seatbelt.  Excessive speed and alcohol impairment are suspected factors in the crash; however the crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Crash Investigation Team.

At About 9:22 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a traffic crash on Pond Rd near Jefferson Rd in the Township of Rubicon.  This location is about 2 miles east of Neosho and about 3 miles west of Hartford.

Initial investigation shows a single passenger car was eastbound on Pond Rd and left the roadway on the south side.  The car rolled and vaulted and came to rest on its roof in a farm field.  The adult male driver was the only occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.  The name of the driver will not be released until at least Thursday, October 20, 2016 pending notification of relatives.  No additional information will be released at this time.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the crash were Neosho Fire and First Responders, Hartford Fire and EMS, the Sheriff’s Office Chaplain, and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.  Fight For Life was contacted, but canceled prior to arrival.
