Just prior to 9 a.m. today, November 22, 2023, the Washington County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from an address in the 5900 block of Hwy 175 reporting two subjects trying to break into her residence. The suspects attempted to gain entry through a bedroom window and the front door before walking towards the barn on the property.
The caller armed herself and took her daughter to the second floor of the home to monitor her property. She was aware of the incident from the previous evening.
Upon law enforcement’s arrival, searching assets were once again dispatched to the area. The first responding sheriff’s deputies checked the barn and did not locate the suspects.
While checking the area, a 21-year veteran deputy noticed a door to a garden shed ajar at an adjacent residence. Both suspects were located inside and were taken into custody.
The pair are being held in the Washington County Jail on the existing warrants and local charges that include Criminal Trespass to Dwelling (X2), Criminal Damage to Property, Burglary, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
