Stolz looked strong in the 1500 meter vs. Bart Swings of Belgium. In the final lap, where most skaters are gassed, Stolz turned on the jets and finished with a time of 1:44.67 and a new track record.

Stolz also took first place in other ISU World Cup Speed Skating events including the 500 meter and 1000 meter.

Interesting to note how fast Stolz was since taking last week off from the competition in Beijing.

During the awards ceremony Stolz was presented with a 1st place gold medal, a cheese cutter tied with a red ribbon and a diploma for setting the new track record.

While in Norway, Stolz also participated with children in World Ice Skating Day.

Stolz is an advocate of skating and trying to grow the sport by encouraging families to get their kids involved. In 2022 he and fellow Olympic speed skater Erin Jackson hosted a Skate with an Olympian event at the Pettit National Ice Center.

Later today, Stolz is to be honored with the Oscar Mathisen Award as the best skater in the world.

This is a working story, and more information will be posted when details are available.
