October 30, 2023 – Washington County, WI – A deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on Hwy 41 near Hwty 144 this morning, October 30, 2023, at 1:51 a.m. for no license plates. Upon approach, the deputy detected the overwhelming odor of marijuana from the vehicle and observed open intoxicants in plain view.

A search, based upon probable cause, was conducted and the deputies located nine grams of marijuana, three grams of crack cocaine, and over 50 un-prescribed Xanax pills. While being questioned about the contraband, the driver, a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, grabbed the contraband and began to flee on foot while attempting to destroy the evidence. The driver was brought to the ground and tased while continuing to resist after a brief foot chase.
The passenger, a 33-year-old Milwaukee female, was also taken into custody.
Both individuals are held on drug charges that include possession of THC, possession of cocaine, and possession with intent to deliver Xanax. The driver also will face charges for resisting arrest and a Probation and Parole hold.

Officers risk there lives everyday to capture the addicts. Then our judicial system fails them. A slap.on the hand and off you go. Sad!!
Both individuals are facing multiple charges including felonies.. Where’s the slap on the hand here? I’m not defending the people involved but it’s not like they engaged in a shootout with the officer.
