Powell, Olejnik named Hartford Rotary Students of the Month | By Ron Schlitt

October 27, 2023 – Washington County, WI – The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce that Bri Olejnik and William Powell were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month. The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of October.

Bri Olejnik is the daughter of Jeremy and Liz Olejnik. Olejnik has been a member of the
Girls Tennis Team, Girls Soccer Team, and Student Council all four years at HUHS. She was
selected as captain of the tennis team as a junior and was named 2nd team North Shore
All-Conference Doubles as a senior. Olejnik was also selected Academic All-State in Tennis.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Club, and H-Club. She also
participated in Girls Basketball for two years.

Olejnik has given back to her community by working at H-Club concessions and
participating in the H-Club Supply Drive, the H-Club Toy Drive, the H-Club Stuffed Animal Drive, Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign, Operation Christmas Child, and the Shamrock Shuffle.

Through the Student Council, Olejnik has helped with the annual blood drives, decorating downtown for homecoming and Christmas, and organizing the Middle School Leadership Conference. She has also worked at a St. Kilian Work Camp, Logan’s Laps for Love, and Erin School Fitness Friday.

Olejnik plans to go to a four-year university to major in Sonography to become an
Ultrasound Technician.

William Powell is the son of Scott and Katrina (Cravy) Powell. Powell is a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Club, H-Club, and the Boys Cross Country and Track and Field Team at HUHS. He serves as captain of the Cross Country team, president of H-Club, and a National Honor Society Executive Council member. Powell represented HUHS at Badger Boys State during his junior year.
Powell has given back to his community by working at H-Club concessions and participating in the H-Club Supply drive, the H-Club Toy Drive, Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign, Operation Christmas Child, Erin School Fitness Friday, Lincoln School Fun Fair, Special Olympics Basketball, and the Shamrock Shuffle. He has also helped at the Middle School Math Meet for the Math Club, the annual Brat Fry Concession Stand for Cross Country,
the Play for Cade Tournament for Rubicon Baseball and Logan’s Laps for Love.
Powell plans to attend a four-year university to receive a bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science.
