October 20, 2023 – West Bend, WI – The West Spartans varsity volleyball team beat Sheboygan North for their first regional game 3-0 on Thursday night.
The Spartans played consistently throughout and never played down. Emy Miller, a sophomore, was a huge help with a long serving run in the first set, as well as the front and back row players picking up every ball they could.
The team was there for each other and celebrating throughout.
Leading the Spartans is Kylee Altendorf with 13 kills, 20 digs and 2 ace serves. Lindsay Sandleback had 11 kills and 14 digs.
Maddie Able has 23 assists and 2 ace serves. Emy Miller had 19 digs and 4 ace serves.
The Spartans take this show on the road to play Hamilton this Saturday October 21 at 7pm.
About the author: Abby Stockhausen is a senior middle blocker at West Bend West. She has been playing volleyball for about 8 years. After high school, she plans on going to college to pursue a job in the medical field.
Clara Corbett is a Senior right-side hitter at West Bend West and has been playing volleyball for almost 8 years. After high school, she is going to college to likely purse a job in the medical field. Abby Stockhausen and Clara Corbett are this year’s captains.
