Up to $30K damage at house fire in Slinger | By Firefighter Dan Croft

October 17, 2023 – Slinger, WI – On October 16, 2023 at 9:49 p.m., SFD and Lifestar EMS were dispatched to the 4100 block of STH 175, for a garbage receptacle fire that had spread to the home.

Crews responded and upon arrival, found heavy smoke on one side of the residence.

The majority of the fire however had been extinguished by the resident on site using a garden hose. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Crews extinguished the remaining hot spots and checked the home for extension.

The building sustained an estimated $25,000-$30,000 in damage. There were no injuries or casualties reported from this incident.

Crews cleared from the scene around 11:15 p.m. This incident remains under investigation. No further information is expected to be released at this time.
