The Fond du Lac County sheriff’s department says Republican state Sen. Rick Gudex (photo, left), 48, of Fond du Lac, has died. The death is currently under investigation, though no foul play is suspected. Gudex represented constituents in the 18th district which includes Fond du Lac, Omro, Oshkosh and Waupun.
