August 23, 2023 – West Bend, WI – Isn’t it ironic? Isn’t it ironic that when something bad happens in life, we pray, but the children can’t do so at school? Isn’t it ironic that when someone loses their life unexpectedly or at a young age, we pray, but the children can’t do so at school? Isn’t it ironic that when tragedy strikes, we pray, but the children aren’t allowed to do so?

When NFL player Damar Hamlin went down on a Monday Night Football game, we all prayed for his health, recovery, and comfort. When actor Paul Walker died in a car crash, we all prayed for his family. When I almost died of Covid-19, many people prayed for me.
Recently at the West Bend School District, a rigged cabal of teachers union members and left-leaning folks decided to keep “The 57 Bus” and “The Kite Runner” in the curriculum. Books filled with vulgarity, rape, sexual content, and violence. Books that they feel are appropriate for CHILDREN to read.
Superintendent Wimmer felt differently and has now recommended to the school board to remove these books from the curriculum at Badger and the High School.
Many members of the school board have made public statements about how they “trust the experts” when it comes to topics of school safety, the budget, facilities, and THE CURRICULUM. The school board will be voting on whether or not to “trust the expert” opinion this upcoming Monday, August 28th.
I’d like to pray for the school board members:
“Dear Heavenly Father, please help lead these board members as they vote on whether or not to keep inappropriate reading material in the curriculum. Please give them the strength and courage to right the wrongs that have allowed these books in the curriculum.
“Please guide these board members out of the dark and into the light as you are our ultimate leader. Make your presence known as you did for Peter when he stepped out of the boat in the treacherous storm. Make your presence known as you did for David in his victorious battle against Goliath. Make your presence known to these board members and lead them in this fight between good and evil. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.”
