VIDEO | Strong line of storms headed towards Washington County, Wi – lightning, heavy rain, high winds

July 28, 2023 – Washington Co., Wi – Thunderstorm warnings have been issued until 10:30 p.m. for Washington County and neighboring communities as a strong line of storms moves across southeastern Wisconsin.

UPDATE: As of 10:30 p.m. neighbors in Slinger, Wi are reporting power outages. Checking with We Energies power outs are being reported in Allenton, Hartford, Dodge and Iron Ridge have hundreds without power, Hustisford and West Bend, Wi.

The National Weather Service is reporting wind gusts between 72 and 81 miles per hour along with penny-size hail and significant straight-line winds. Heavy rain is also expected along with strong lightning. Dodge County is reportedly getting clobbered with heavy rains and high winds.

While many were sweltering in the 90-degree heat, a cool front came through just after 7 p.m. and temps dropped to 74 degrees as a storm system approached from the west.

The submitted video from the Wisconsin Dells shows there are rivers across the road because of heavy rainfall and ponding.
