A nice memorial donation was accepted this week by the West Bend Common Council as the city accepted a $25 gift from Carl “Cracker” Kircher.
West Bend Fire Chief Gerald Kudek made a presentation Monday night as he spoke about Kircher.
“Carl was a West Bend resident who served his country by enlisting in the Untied States Navy and after his return home he served his West Bend community as a paid-on-call firefighter for 25 years. Mr. Kircher passed away on July 25, 2016. His family presented the fire department with a $25 memorial gift in his honor.
This memorial will be spent on relocating the firefighter memorial plaques from the Seventh Avenue side of the fire station to the Eighth Avenue, main entrance.
