Obit: Shirley J. Leemon, 90, of Lomira

Shirley J. Leemon, 90, of Lomira, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.

 

She was born on April 27, 1926 to the late Fred and Leona (nee Jaeger) Ninneman in the Town of Rosendale. On April 27, 1947 she was united in marriage to her wonderful husband Ralph Leemon at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. She worked at Mayville Metal for 10 years in Lomira as a Drill Press Operator and enjoyed smoking cigars with the guys. She helped Ralph “Fuzzy” on the farm every day. Shirley and Fuzzy enjoyed going gambling and scouting the hunting land. She liked putting puzzles together and canning. She loved spending time with the children and grandchildren. Shirley and Fuzzy enjoyed getting together for Christmas Eve with the family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

 

 

Those Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory include her six children, Larry (Mary Jo) Leemon of Sturgeon Bay, Janet (Joe) Lauber of Fond du Lac, Sharon Dworschak of Beaver Dam, Karen (Randy Robenhorst) Yerges of Mayville, Patti (Roger) Kirchner of Fond Du Lac, and Sandra Holt of Beaver Dam; 12 grandchildren, Tammy, Josh, Carey, Christina, Heidi, Michael, Becky, Steven, Robert, Michelle, Ashley, and Zachery; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale (Helen) Ninneman and Glenn (Lois) Ninneman; two sisters-in-law, Helen Ninneman and Marie Ninneman; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; four grandchildren, Corey Leemon, Wendy Leemon, Terri Lauber and Jefferey Yerges; three brothers, Ray Ninneman, Gordon Ninneman, and Fred Ninneman; three sisters, Carol Lacquey, Dorothy Hilke, and Lois Ann Frye.

 

A funeral service in remembrance of Shirley will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home, 350 Main Street in Lomira with Rev. Rom Pegram officiating.

 

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of service.

 

The family will like to thank the nurses and staff at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center and Agnesian Hospice for all their help and care.
