Obit: Janet Rohlinger, 78, Kewaskum

Janet M. Rohlinger, 78, of Kewaskum, entered eternal life where she was reunited with her loving husband Al on Friday, September 30, 2016, unexpectedly at her home.

She was born on August 21, 1938, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Christ and Elizabeth (nee Bahr) Koenings.  On August 31, 1957 she was united in marriage to Alois “Al” Rohlinger at St. Mary’s Church in Barton.  Al preceded Janet in death on October 30, 2008.

Janet worked as a waitress at A&W in Kewaskum for many years. Later in life she worked at Tuttle Creek Learning Center where she loved being able to cook for the children.  Janet was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum where she served as an usher and also volunteered her time.

Janet loved to spend time with her family, extended family and friends.  She enjoyed spending time with Mary Ellen McElhatton, and all the lunch dates they shared.  Janet was loved by many and “grandma” to so many adopted children and grandchildren who she loved like they were her own.  She will be deeply missed and her memory cherished by all who knew her.

Those Janet leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Diane (Randy) Schickert of Kewaskum; a grandson, Benjamin (Julie) Schickert of West Bend; two sisters, Eileen Spaeth of West Bend and Cathy (Neguta) Molla of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Richard (Nancy) Koenings of West Bend and Chuck (Judy) Koenings of Menomonee Falls; two brothers-in-law, Gregor “Crickets” (Beverly) Rohlinger and Norbert Rohlinger both of Kewaskum; two sisters-in-law, Mary (David) Ours of Campbellsport and Shirley Sarauer of Kewaskum, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.  Janet was a special Grandma to her great-niece and great-nephew, Hailey and Isaac Rohlinger.  Sam her favorite dog was her companion.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janet was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Leo and Johanna (Hall) Rohlinger; a brother, Paul Koenings; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Rohlinger and Rita Renner and three brothers-in-law, Robert Spaeth, Robert Renner and Ronald Sarauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St. in Kewaskum with Fr. Mark Jones and Fr. Edwin Kornath officiating.  Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7, in the parish cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Trinity Catholic School are appreciated.
