June 15, 2023 – Washington Co., WI – Dear County Executive Josh Schoemann,
Below is a picture from this morning’s (June 14, 2023) downtown commuter route [Washington County Commuter Express or WCCE]; we are real tax-paying county residents.
I have been advocating to keep the WCCE commuter service in Washington County since I became aware of this. My fellow commuters and I all have made phone calls, sent emails, and showed up at listening sessions and the Public Works meeting to which our inquiries and suggestions not only fell on deaf ears, but many inquiries have gone unanswered.
As this process moved on from “redesign” to “elimination” we now know from the beginning we had already lost.
As the County Executive, I hold you responsible for this decision as it is evident to me that is part of your agenda (TBD).
As a faithful registered voter, you have lost my vote, and I will be paying more attention to my local government – and shame on me. But shame on you for thinking you are bigger than your constituents, even the “few”.
