City of Hartford now taking TVs for free | By Steve Volkert

Hartford, WI – Drop off your TV for free. You don’t see this often; something is actually now free. For many years, the recycling of old TVs was something the City of Hartford had paid for. Whatever the City got charged, taxpayers got charged. Due to recent changes in recycling, companies are now accepting TVs for free.

Now that the city is no longer being charged, the savings are being passed off to residents and taxpayers who will no longer be charged. If you have a TV of any size or variety, you may drop off old TVs at the City Garage, 710 W. Sumner, Hartford, WI, on Thursday night or Saturday morning during normal recycling hours.

Note: Keep in mind, if the city must pick it up for you, that still comes with a fee for the extra service.
