1st degree intentional homicide charges filed following fatal shooting in Fond du Lac, WI

May 10, 2023 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – State of Wisconsin vs. Parise E Larry and Antonio K Johnston [Defendant Name(s) List] Case No. 2023CF000399; 2023CF00039.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2023 Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that eight felonies, including First Degree Intentional Homicide as a Party to a Crime with a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone have been filed against Parise E. Larry and Antonio K. Johnston.

Bail has been set at $1 million cash.

The charges stem from a shooting in the City of Fond du Lac on May 7, 2023, which left one dead with two others wounded from gunfire. Parise E. Larry is anticipated to make his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County May 10 at 11 a.m.

District Attorney Toney said, “We are asking for public assistance in locating Antonio Johnston. If you know where he is located or have information related to this investigation, please contact Detective Nick Hahn at (920)322-3721 nhahn@fdl.wi.gov <mailto:nhahn@fdl.wi.gov>  or the Crime Alert line at (920)322-3740. Do not try and apprehend them.”

Both Johnston and Larry face up to life in prison with the following charges:

  1. First Degree Intentional Homicide as a Party to a Crime with a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone (Class A Felony)
  2. Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide as a Party to a Crime with a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone (Class B Felony)
  3. First Degree Reckless Injury as a Party to a Crime with a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone (Class D Felony)
  4. Injury by Negligent Use of a Dangerous Weapon with a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone (Class I Felony)
  5. Four Counts of First Degree Reckless Endangering Safety with a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone (Class Felony)

This case is being investigated by the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and prosecuted by District Attorney Eric Toney. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.

UPDATE: The information below was released Wednesday morning, May 10, 2023 regarding 14-year-old Parise Larry Jr. now in custody.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning Parise E. Larry Jr., 14, turned himself into Fond du Lac Police Officers without incident and is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail.

FDLPD will not rest until Antonio K. Johnston, 17, is found and in custody.

FDLPD will be partnering with federal law enforcement agencies today to assist in our homicide investigation.

Chief Aaron Goldstein said, “FDLPD is committed to working together with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to hold offenders who chose to put our community at risk responsible for their criminal actions here.”

The FDLPD is seeking assistance from our community.

The arrest stems from a shooting in the 800 block of Martin Avenue on May 7, 2023 at approximately 6:50p.m. that resulted in the death of one victim and critically injuring two additional victims.

Temporary Felony Warrants were entered for Antonio K. Johnston (17-years-old) and Parise E. Larry Jr. (14-years-old).

FDLPD will also hold accountable anyone who intentionally aids and abets these two persons of interest as a party to crime.

The investigation into this incident is at the preliminary stages and remains under active investigation. No further details or information are being released at this time.

One suspect is now custody in our Secure Detention facility after turning himself in. Multiple local, state and federal agencies remain committed to locating and arresting the second suspect.
