Vehicle on Barton Ave. hit by gunshot

A 29-year-old West Bend man is facing several charges after he reportedly fired a gun in this home that went through the wall and hit a vehicle parked on Barton Avenue.  Police said nobody was injured.

The incident happened at 9:26 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10 in the 1700 block of Barton Avenue.

An investigation revealed the man was attempting to unload a semi-automatic handgun but actually loaded the firearm inadvertently. The firearm discharged while the man was handling it and the bullet passed through an exterior wall of the residence.

The bullet struck an unoccupied parked vehicle in the parking lot causing damage to the vehicle.

 The man was arrested and placed in jail for Endangering Safety by Negligent Use of a Weapon and Criminal Damage to Property.
