West Bend, WI – There are new owners in place at Silver Lake Country Inn, 5602 Peters Drive in the town of West Bend and have no fear, their game plan is to “not change a thing.”

Bill Driscoll and Ann Pfeffer are the new owners along with Faith Summerfield, Kate Sheffield.  The three ladies met while working the past 10 years in the restaurant industry in Cedarburg, WI.

“Kate oversees the bar area and Faith is in the kitchen with me along with front of house,” said Pfeffer.

The restaurant and apartment above first went on the market in June 2021. “Located on Silver Lake in the Town of West Bend is the famous Silver Lake Country Inn. Known for its delicious food, great prices and a fun Supper Club atmosphere. This ”turn key” and extremely successful business is truly a hidden gem.”

A couple of hot-ticket menu items that remain a fan favorite include all-you-can-eat ribs and all-you-can-eat lake perch. “We also have the deep-fried shrimp or peel-and-eat shrimp,” said Pfeffer.

The new owners are looking for more details on the history of the establishment. A few notes from the past are listed on the restaurant’s website (see below), but Driscoll said he would like to know more about when the place was called ‘Hathaway’s or Kuhn’s Tavern.

Hathaways bought the business from Jerry Faber and his wife Carol in the 70’s. They called it JC’s Silver Lake Resort.  Prior to that it was owned by Lloyd and Marge Lynn; Lynn’s Resort.

Near the shore of SilverLake in the town of West Bend, Silver Lake Country Inn was founded almost 30 years ago by Dan Rau and Dawn Robarge. The quaint and cozy restaurant and bar has flourished every year, mainly through word-of-mouth recommendations from its loyal customers.

Today they continue to operate this restaurant with the same goals as when they started, offering a unique and comfortable place to dine, and great food at affordable prices.

One of the most important objectives was to make sure that every time you visit you can depend on the consistency of the food, which they, along with many others believe to be quite good. They’ve accomplished this by not veering from what they do best, which is all the cooking themselves.

They also believe in providing the best service possible. They are very proud of their staff, of which many have been there for quite some time.

Silver Lake Country Inn offers not only a full menu from children’s meals to sandwiches to steaks, but a terrific Wisconsin fish fry and special all you care to eat nights.

They also pride themselves on making sure that everything from soups to desserts from croutons to appetizers are always homemade.  Enjoy a bowl of Dan’s homemade soup or French onion at the beginning of your meal, but save room for a slice of Dawn’s famous home-made cheesecake for dessert.

Best known for their BBQ and Honey Dijon Ribs, they are proud to offer them as an all-u-can eat special along with a side of shrimp on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Also, of note is all you can eat perch on Wednesday. Of course, you can’t go wrong with their Friday Fish Fry.

Silver Lake Country Inn is open Tuesday thru Saturday with the bar opening at 4pm and the dining room at 4:30pm. Reservations are not necessary but recommended (including Fridays).
