November 18, 2022 – West Bend, WI – This past weekend West Bend West took first place in the JV1 North Shore conference volleyball tournament.
We took first in our pool beating Cedarburg, Grafton and Homestead, while splitting with Hartford.
The championship game was against West Bend East. We started off strong by winning the first game 25-19 but fell a little short in the second game and lost 19-25.
In the third game we knew we needed to work even harder and did just that by beating them 15-10, our outside hitter, Laila Hertel, put the game away by getting a kill to win.
On top of taking first place, we beat the two teams that we lost to during the conference regular season, Cedarburg and West Bend East.
For the season, our record was 7-2 in conference and we won 3 tournaments. Overall we had a great season with lots of fun!

Nora Cybell- Nora is also a freshman on the West Bend West JV1 team. She’s a right side and outside hitter, and also plays club volleyball. Some of her other hobbies are beekeeping and cooking.
