West Bend, WI – Robert “Bob” C. Kontos, 83, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 11, 2022, at his home with loved ones by his side.
Bob was born August 4, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI to parents Marie (nee Jacobson) and Gordon Kontos. He was united in marriage on October 21, 1962, to Miriam (nee Timm).
Bob worked for Chicago Northwestern railroad for over 30 years in Butler, WI, and many other states. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he also enjoyed a good game of sheepshead and cribbage alongside a nice strong Manhattan or two. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting seasons and was a member of the Blue Wing hunting club in Rush Lake, WI. When he wasn’t hunting, he could be found fishing or taking fishing trips to Canada and many spots all over Wisconsin with his numerous fishing buddies.
Bob served our country in the United States Army. He was a family man and a great dad to his children, and he loved the company of his furry companion Stubby among many other pets throughout the years.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Susan Blazich and David Kontos of Hartford, and his dog Stubby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Miriam of 40 years; dear brother Gary, and treasured son-in-law David Blazich.
Per the wishes of Robert and his family, a private committal service will be held.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to all who had a hand in taking care of our Dad in his final years. Our family wouldn’t have made it without you and we are truly grateful for everything you’ve done for us.
