August 16, 2022 – Barton, WI – The Barton House, 1800 Barton Avenue, is taking shape and owner Eric Schairer will open the new establishment Friday, August 19, 2022.
Schairer has been working diligently, ever since purchasing the establishment June 30, 2022. “I used to have over 100 things on my to-do list,” said Schairer. “Now I’m nearly finished and will be happy to open.”

“We’re not just going to be a barbeque place,” said Schairer. “We’re going to have a Friday fish fry with walleye, cod and perch along with potato pancakes. On Saturday we will have prime rib with queen and king cuts, and we’ll have the typical bar-type food with burgers, chicken and wraps.”
The Barton House will also serve corned beef, Irish Nachos, smoked brisket and smoked ribs. Right now, there will be a modified appetizer menu.
Colleen Lonergan will be the head chef. In the industry for 40 years Lonergan has worked supper clubs and multiple other venues. “We worked together on the menu that will give us a real niche in this area – kind of a gastropub environment,” said Schairer.
“I was nervous two months ago – now that we’re closer I’m not as nervous.”
Schairer said he expects he will be a little nervous on Friday. “I just ask people to be patient,” he said. “We have some employees with a lot of experience and others who are newer to the industry. We will roll with the punches and learn on our feet,” he said.
The Barton House will be open Wednesday through Friday 3 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. There are plans to expand for lunch in the future.
