Strupp’s Overall Grand Champion Gilt weighed 274 pounds and pulled in a bid of $25 a pound. Strupp’s Overall Reserve Champion Born and Raised weighed 281 pounds and secured a bid of $20 a pound at the Washington County Fair.

Strupp said he’s going to use the money he made to pay off some bills he incurred while completing his project and purchasing animals for next year’s project.

The biggest thing Strupp said he learned were life skills like not always winning. “Most of the time when showing you learn how to lose and second this project takes people to get to where you are including my cousin Brandon, my sister and my parents were great,” he said.

Tyler Strupp is a graduate of Slinger High School and has already started an apprenticeship to be an electrician with MCR Services.
