July 5, 2022 – Dodge County, WI – UPDATE: The driver of the Kenworth dump truck was identified as William R. Vollmer, 67 years old, from Iron Ridge, Wisconsin. An investigation by the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has determined that the crash is a traffic fatality.
On June 28, 2022 at approximately 2:05 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy S at Hwy WS, in the township of Hubbard, Dodge County, WI.
Initial investigation showed that a 67-year-old male (from Iron Ridge, WI) was operating a 1999 Kenworth dump truck that was traveling west on Hwy S approaching Hwy WS. The dump truck failed to stop at the stop sign, crossed both lanes of Hwy WS, entered a driveway, crossed over railroad tracks, vaulted and overturned.

The male driver and only occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
Assisting at the accident scene were: Iron Ridge Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, Hustisford Fire Department, Iron Ridge First Responders, Horicon EMS, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin DNR, Iron Ridge Police Department, DCERT and the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
