June 15, 2022 – Hartford, WI – Brayleigh Louise King, 7, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, following an 8-month battle with a rare form of brain cancer.
Brayleigh was born January 1, 2015, at the Aurora Grafton Medical Center to Christina L. King and Patrick J. Johnston. She attended Meadowview Elementary School in Oconomowoc where she recently graduated first grade.
Brayleigh brought unforgettable joy to her family and friends with her fun, sweet, caring, and kind heart along with her great sense of humor (she was very smart as well as funny!) mixed with a little bit of sass and rambunctiousness.
She loved gymnastics, unicorns, buttered noodles, donuts in bed, her bike, animals, chocolate ice cream with M&M’s and sprinkles, going to the beach and being in the water, and moped rides with her dad and brothers. Most of all Brayleigh loved her family and adored her older brothers, always following right behind them. She was a great friend who genuinely, always did the right thing.
Brayleigh will forever be missed by her loving parents, Christina King and Pat Johnston (Sarah Floyd); best half-brothers, Benjamin and Charlie Johnston; proud grandparents, Doreen and Jeffrey King and Terry and William “Bill” Johnston Sr.; adoring aunts and uncles, Erika Pollack and Allen (Lori) King, Therese (Tony) Suslick *(also Brayleigh’s Godparents), Maggie (Matt) Zorn, Sarah (Tim) Anderson, and Bill Johnston Jr. She is further survived by many, many treasured cousins, other relatives and friends, and her 4 cherished kitties and bunny: Keegan, Millie, Trevor, Boogey, and Mr. Bun-Bun.
A private memorial service will be held for immediate family at this time with plans for a celebration of Brayleigh’s life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Brayleigh’s honor are appreciated to:
