Ruth Sickler (Nee Damaschun), age 87 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Saturday, August 13, 2016. She was born to Gustav and Anna (Nee Gedat) Damaschun on July 29, 1929 in Lindendorf Germany. She married Wayne Sickler in 1955 in Karlsruhe Germany-where he was stationed and together they had three children.
Ruth was raised in Germany and moved to the United States in 1956. She was in sales most of her life. Ruth enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world. She loved fishing, gardening, playing games, sewing & crocheting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children, Scott (Jackie) Sickler, Gene (Anke) Sickler and Judi (Donald) Gokey; grandchildren, Michael Sickler, Jason (Katrina) Sickler, Dennis (Michelle) Sickler, Christopher (Allicia) Sickler, Justin (Vicki) Baetje, Katie Baetje; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother Guenter (Gudrun) Damaschun and sister Dorothea (Horst) Dzonkowski; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Wayne.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at The Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI) with Donald Gokey presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Washington County Memorial Park.
