REAL ESTATE | Sixth Avenue BBQ Pit moves into Washington House

May 25, 2022 – West Bend, WI – The Sixth Avenue BBQ Pit is on the move. Owner Jeremy Hahn is moving his business from the lower level of 140 N. Main Street, in West Bend to the Washington House, 228 N. Sixth Avenue, in West Bend, WI.

“We’re actually moving to the Washington House because the kitchen is about five times the size, so we will get a lot of barbecue,” said Hahn who is leasing the space from building owner Eddie Daniel.

The hope is to move the restaurant within the next six weeks.

“We have a plan, moving the inventory from the old Sixth Avenue barbecue pit, coordinating staff and whatnot,” Hahn said.

On a history note, the Sixth Avenue BBQ Pit originally started as Inferno; a lower-level dance club located below The Exclusive Company.

“This move is going to be very family friendly,” said Hahn. “We’re more visible and we have a porch overlooking Main Street.  We’ll also have a big kitchen and not just pizza ovens and a smoker.”

Dan Schott, who joined the team at Sixth Avenue BBQ in January 2021, will be heading up the kitchen. “He’s really good at barbecue,” said Hahn. “We have Dan and then we just need line cooks and people for plating; with a dedicated staff and Dan’s determination to make barbecue we will make this happen.”

Hahn said the location of the Washington House is also closer to his other businesses, The Garden Lounge and The Boardroom. In December 2021, Hahn also purchased the former Chase Bank, 801 W. Washinton Street in West Bend, WI.

In the coming year Hahn is also hoping to use the dance hall space next door, formerly The Venue, to book bands and entertainment.

This is a working story and more information will be added when details become available.
