Quite a few local fire departments (9 alarms) turned out in force just after 8 p.m. for a small attic fire contained to an out building at Cedar Community on County Highway Z.
“There were no residents in any danger,” said Nicole Pretre, Director of Business Development with Cedar Community.
Fire Departments from Allenton, Slinger, West Bend, Boltonville, Filmore, Newburg engine; Kewaskum, Jackson, and Kohlsville tenders/tankers Chief from Newburg.
“A resident who saw smoke and notified maintenance on call and they immediately called 911,” said Pretre.
The out building is the Learning Center located in the middle of the Cedar Lake campus. The building was vacant at the time of the fire.
Damage estimates have yet to be determined. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
