Obituary | Ronald C. Luedtke, 86, of Lomira, WI

January 31, 2022 – Lomira, WI – Ronald C. Luedtke, 86, of Lomira, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022.

Ronald was born in Lomira on January 18, 1936, to Jerome and Dorothy (nee Kietzer) Luedtke. He graduated from Lomira High School in 1954, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the tank division from 1954-1956. On October 12, 1957, he was united in marriage to Donna Schwartz at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. He retired from his farming and local trucking business at the age of 80 years old. Ronald was also a bus driver for the Lomira School District for many years. His greatest passion in life was racing modified race cars, which he did successfully for over 25 years.

Ronald was a 50-year member of the Lions Club International, during which time he was an eye tissue transporter. He was a charter member of the Lomira Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a lifetime member of the Lomira Sportsman’s Club.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Donna of 64 years; and their three children, Melissa Luedtke, Murray (Heidi) Luedtke, and Melinda (Tim) Hoff; three grandchildren, Tyler (Sabine) Luedtke, Sawyer Charles Hoff and Shauna Mae Hoff; four step-grandchildren, Amanda (Curt) Christian, Jordan (Amanda) Hoff, Houston (Jessica) Hoff, and Devon Hoff; 6 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Patzer of Bella Vista, AR and Margo (Larry) Murray of Marathon, FL; two brothers, August (Andrea) Luedtke and Jeffrey (Becky) Luedtke both of Lomira; a brother-in-law, Lee Schwartz; other relatives and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy and Jerome; his mother and father-in-law, Leona and Alvin Schwartz; sisters-in-law, Virginia Burkholder, Delphine Schwartz, and Rita Schwartz; his brothers-in-law, Larry Burkholder, Lyle Schwartz, and Richard Patzer.

VISITATION: Ronald’s family will greet relatives and friends at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 550 Water Street, in Lomira on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A funeral service for Ronald will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. Rev. Matthew Kiecker will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: A celebration of Ronald’s life will take place at Brownsville Community Club, 871 Main Street, in Brownsville, on Friday, February 4, 2022 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
