Washington County appoints new ADRC Director

Anderson, Tammy

Tammy Anderson, has been appointed the new Washington County Director of the Aging and Disability Resource Center.

Anderson has been serving as the Social Services Supervisor at Samaritan the last three years.

“I am excited for the many opportunities and challenges that this new role will present,” Anderson said. “I look forward to working with many employees and community members in Washington County. I am thrilled to be in a position to serve the community and provide the highest quality services for those in need here in Washington County.”

The Aging and Disability Resource Center is a place where information, assistance, and access to services and community resources is in one central place for senior and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The team has grown to over 20 employees and has traditionally been well-organized and managed with the customer service experience being placed as a top priority.

The department also offers information to family members, friends, neighbors, caregivers, doctors, and other professionals to assist them in their work with seniors and disabled adults. Additionally, these services are available regardless of income or health status with no cost to the individual.

“I believe Tammy will be a wonderful addition to the Washington County leadership team,” said County Administrator Joshua Schoemann. “She will be extremely influential in helping us to meet the needs of the department while maintaining our client-focused reputation and allowing us to be more fluid as we consider future consolidation and efficiencies in the department,” added Schoemann.

Anderson is a graduate of UW-Oshkosh where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Over the past 18 years, she has worked with a variety of populations, including children, mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and the aging.

In addition to her time as the Social Services Supervisor, Anderson has held several other supervisory and director positions in her career. Anderson currently lives in Jackson with her husband and three children.

Anderson will start her new position August 1, 2016.
