December 26, 2021 – West Bend, WI – Sad to say neighbors, the news just keeps getting worse. The Covid 19 virus that was supposedly a mainly cold-weather bug, showed us all over the summer it was a warm weather bug as well. Now, we are seeing the predictable rise in Covid 19 cases. And we are also starting to see the predictable over reaction by government leaders. Here we go again. The sky is falling. The sky is falling. Can anyone really doubt the political leaders in Madison are plotting some type of Covid crackdown again?
We have seen how Madison and Washington D.C. has dealt with the pandemic. Power, not persuasion, is their hallmark. Use a crisis to create fear and division among the people, use the bully pulpit of government to proclaim one size fits all solutions that will not work everywhere, use willing accomplices in the news media to shame those who do not automatically comply.
Mask mandates, shutting down the businesses, putting people out of work. Creating fear among the people and dependency on government handouts. Devastating our children’s education and crushing many of the small businesses that are the backbone of Wisconsin’s economy. And now we are confronted by the reality that, despite the vaunted vaccines, the Omicron variant demonstrates Covid 19 is not going away. I am sure we are all sick of this.
Wisconsin deserves better. We deserve better leadership that respects local control of government and education. Leadership that does not seemingly delight in creating fear in its citizens in order to compel compliance with overreaching government demands and shame those who do not blindly comply.
Leadership that is better at persuading instead of using its bully pulpit to divide us. Leadership that realizes we have to live as normally as possible in trying times instead of trying to shut down the businesses and put people out of work. This is type of leadership we deserve.
Yet this type of leadership is not easily found. We can only speculate how the two declared Republican gubernatorial candidates would have handled the Covid 19 Pandemic. Neither has a track record. What we need and deserve is a leader with a track record that proves what he would have done. Fortunately, that leader exists.
Theinsville Village President Van Mobley is a leader in the mold of Florida Governor Ron Desantis. Early on during the pandemic, Mobley openly took issue with the way Evers and the Democrats were handling the Pandemic. More than once he decried the policies of the Madison Democrats- denouncing them in real time, not with the benefit of months of hindsight. The record exists and is verifiable.
To the extent he could, Mobley tried to maintain life as normal as much as possible. Holding the 2020 and 2021 Theinsville Fourth of July event at a time when many other places were afraid to. No emergency was declared in Theinsville. All businesses were deemed essential and not one business was shut down by the village government over Covid 19. This is what leadership looks like. Meeting the crisis head on. Not trying to create fear among the people. Not shutting down businesses and thus putting people out of work. Trying to deal with the Pandemic and maintain our normal way of life as much as he could.
In 2022 Wisconsin voters will elect a governor. We need a proven leader, not speculation. I believe that Van Mobley is that leader. He has a track record where the other Republican candidates simply do not. If we are to make Wisconsin a better place for our children and ourselves, we must have such a leader as Van Mobley, so I ask you in joining me in supporting his bid for Governor.
Sincerely,
Joseph Fisher

Why do you think you’re a public health expert? You’re definitely the furthest thing from it. Serving the public involves selflessness, something most Republicans are the opposite of.
