District 24 Washington County Supervisor appointed to Board of Bar Examiners

December 26, 2021 – Washington Co., WI – Chief Justice Annette Kingsland Ziegler of the Wisconsin Supreme Court sent a letter to Peter Sorce of Germantown informing him of his appointment as a public member to the Board of Bar Examiners.

The appointment letter from Clerk of Supreme Court Sheila T. Reiff reads: IT IS ORDERED that Mr. Peter Sorce and Attorney Megan Stelljes are appointed to their first three-year terms on the Board of Bar Examiners, commencing January 1, 2022, and expiring December 31, 2024, or until further order of the court.

“I have been asking for the longest time to get on a committee that meets a lot and requires some travel, and this meets the qualifications I’m looking for,” Sorce said. “I’m ecstatic to be appointed to the Board.”

According to the Wisconsin Court System: “Lawyers seeking to practice law in Wisconsin must go through the Board of Bar Examiners (BBE), an 11-member board appointed by the Supreme Court. BBE evaluates the skills, character, and fitness of lawyers and also writes and grades the Wisconsin Bar Examination.

“The Board meets approximately six times per year. Five of the meetings are held in Madison and one (the August meeting) may be held in a Board member’s hometown.”

Sorce, a Washington County Supervisor for District 24, will replace Patrick Delmore whose term expires December 31, 2021.
